Since I was a complete tit for reading Lead before the previous books, I might have spoilt it for myself but rest assured, it’s romance and they always have their happy endings. This is, she wakes up married to the rock god that is David Ferris. What was supposed to be a night to let her hair loose and finally relax, turned out to be the wildest night of her life and what’s worse, she can’t even remember a sliver of what happened. It follows the story of college student, Evelyn’s wild night of debauchery in Vegas with her best friend, Lauren in tow. Lick is the beginning of everything, where the series kicks off. I have only read the third book in the Stage Dive series, which was Lead, last year and I enjoyed it immensely. I am happy to say that Lick was hugely satisfying. There’s a little part of me that craves for a good romance with the angsty, emotional declarations of love and the push-and-pull relationship between the characters, once in a while. One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride. Now if she could just remember how it all happened. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big.
